Handmade Holidays!!!

I was invited to join my good friend, Sarah Lavin and her business partner Julie in an
amazing event they held at their business in downtown Sioux Falls called
Handmade Holiday at Zing!  I worked for a couple of months making items for
the weekend event so I thought I would share them with you!!!
Above are the pins I made using the Flower Folds Die and Fabric and buttons from Stampin' Up!

Next, I made these Christmas Placemats using our Holly Berry Bouquet Fabric and our
Stockings Die!  The stocking was a pocket to hold your silverware!

Here is a look at part of my display...
I also made some canvas coasters out of our Scallop Square Die and the
Fun Flowers Die...quick and cute gift idea.  The Pumpkins were made out of Dryer Venting
and I painted them and added a stem, leaves, and a raffia bow!  My girls learned how to sew
this past month and made all of the fun pillows!

I used the smaller flower on the Flower Folds Die to make the little flowers on the gloves and sewed them directly to glove using our fun Stampin' Up! buttons!

I also made the aprons from the earlier post for adults and also smaller for children!
It was a fun weekend...thanks Zing! for the opportunity!

Stampin' friends are the best!!!

My amazing Stampin' Up! friend, Michele Pelky,  flew in to Indiana from Temecula, CA
to spend the week with me!!!
She came on Tuesday, Oct. 24th and we spent the week stamping or "frampin" which means stamping with friends! and she showed me how to make these fun aprons out of large dish towels!
Then we left early that Thursday morning and headed to Louisville, KY to go to a Stampin' Up! Regional event....it is a 3 hour drive from my house but it took us 11 hours as we stopped in all the little towns along the way to go to Antique/Thrift Stores!!! So much fun!!! We stopped in Marion, IN to have lunch with my son Nicholas too!  We had a blast at the regional and learned a ton of new stuff but didn't think to take any pics of ourselves there...duh! But we took a picture of the bridge there and of the beautiful fall colors!

We did some baking and tried to make Verlyn's moms Caramel Rolls from scratch...turned out okay for the first time!  We had so much fun together!  I just love how Stampin' Up! has touched my life by making lifetime friends with people I would have never met!!!  Thanks Michele for a great week!!!

South Dakota Open House Adventure!!! Not.

So, here is my latest Stampin' Up! Adventure and the reason I have not
posted lately...
On Thur. Sept. 15th, my husbands brother lost his battle with Pancreatic/Liver
cancer and we headed back to South Dakota on Friday after school.  I decided that
since we were having to go all the way back home that I would throw together a
last minute OPEN HOUSE!  So, I arranged a room at this hotel that I have used before...
sent out a mass email and text to all my customers and my downline....came up with my
card ideas and then grabbed all of the colors of cardstock I would need, which was at least
3 packages of every color for all 4 cards.  I put this HUGE stack of cardstock in one of my fun
cruise bags from years ago and spent the 12 hour drive back to SD making my card samples and
cutting the cardstock for all my projects.  I also spent 3 hours on Saturday morning cutting
the rest of the cardstock and then put each projects cardstock materials in Wal-Mart plastic bags
on top of the rest of the cardstock I hadn't used and my paper cutter and my Clear Acrylic Blocks
case...all back in this bag that looked kindof like a reusable shopping bag.
Saturday night I put it and my Big Shot on the back seat of my daughters car so I would
have all my supplies to set up for the Open House at 2 pm on Sunday after church.

At 8:30 am, my daughter Chelsea called to tell me that someone had broken out our car window
and stolen our GPS (thanks...now how do we get home?) and her Ipod Touch.  We were so
mad...seriously?  It was parked in a super nice neighborhood too.
So, the police were called and Chelsea and Sarah, our friend at who's house she was staying,
made out the report and she let Chelsea take her car to church.  We were staying at my sisters so after church we drove back to Sarah's to get my Open House supplies and hurried off to set up for my Open House.  We had all the tables covered and the supplies all laid out when I realized I couldn't find
the bag with all the project samples and cardstock.  Then we realized that the bag had been stolen
out of the car!!! They probably thought it was a shopping bag full of Wal-mart items...morons. So, needless to say, I could not have my Open House without ANY cardstock or blocks!  Lots of crying.
My ladies were so amazingly understanding and gave me some nice "pity" orders!

The amazing part of that crazy experience is that on Monday I got a call from a lady who had
found the bag in the middle of 41st and Marion Road (super busy intersection about a mile and a half from where the car was parked) and she was able to gather up some of the items for me!!!  Luckily I had my name and address/phone number on the bottom of the block caddy!  So below is a picture of what was
left and some of the hundreds of pieces of cardstock littering that entire intersection!!!

One of the 8 samples survived...6 packages of cardstock, my block case with blocks inside
was only cracked a little and lots and lots of run over cardstock!!!

See the crack?

Here is one of the cards they were going to make at that Open House...it was
sooooo pretty!

I had to show you the picture that my friend Sarah's little girl Taylor drew that morning....
She was one of my daycare babies and is now 5 and she was watching out the window
as Chelsea was leaving and discovered the broken into car....she ran upstairs and woke
up her mom and said "I think that something is wrong with Chelsea!"
Then, while the police were there she drew this picture for us. :-(
Such a sweetie!

So, that was my Adventureous Stampin' Up! Open House weekend!!!

New Card samples from a swap I was just in!!!

This is my swap that I made...it is using the new Creative Elements Stamp Set,
Soft Suede c/s & Pad, Rich Razzleberry c/s & Pad, Very Vanilla c/s...our new Designer Frames
Embossing Folder, Victoria ribbon and Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon, Pearls....I then sponged the card and ribbon with Soft Suede and used the Color Spritzer to splatter the card with Soft Suede and to finish it off I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and spritzed the entire card!  Love it!

This card was made by Cricket Thompson and she used the stamp set Established Elegance
and colors Soft Suede, Early Expresso, and Shimmery Gold Cardstock and the DSP Mocha Morning.

This card was made from Lou Ann Cruttenden.  She used the new Snow Much Fun stamp set and the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  The cardstock colors are Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron, Old Olive, Soft Suede, and Confetti White.  She used the Northern Flurry embossing folder..did some machine stitching and tore the edges on the side...plus a little watercoloring and ta-da! Cute Christmas Card!!

This card was made by Diane Kipp.  She used the new stamp set called Raining Flowers. The Designer Series Paper is Berry Blossoms and the colors are Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Early Expresso and Whisper White.  She added our fun new Lucky Limeade Ribbon and our new Designer Printed Brad!  Cute Card!!

This card was made by Ann Welborn.  She used our fun new stamp set Pennant Parade with the coordinating Pennant Punch and our 1/2" circle punch. The words are from our great new Hostess Set called Happiest Birthday Wishes!  She used our new In-Colors: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, & Island Indigo...she finished it off with some stitching done with our White Gel Pen.

This card was made by Deb Snyder and I just LOVE this one!!!  She used our cute new stamp set called Furry Folk and the Hello is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  She used the Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, and Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The top was embossed with our new Stripes embossing folder and the bottom Very Vanilla was done using our Lattice embossing folder. The tag was added with a brad and the Jewelry Tag punch!  The opening to the mouse hole was made using our Extra-Large Oval punch.

This last card was made by Gwen Duckworth and is a fun easel card!!! She used the new stamp set called My Friend...the colors are Whisper White, Pool Party and Early Expresso.  She used the Polka Dot embossing folder on the bottom piece and then cut out 3 Top Note Bigz Dies (2 in Pool Party and one in Whisper White) and folded the middle one in half to make the easel.  She also used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and our Pearls and the Modern Label and Word Window Punch!  Such a cute card!

Well, I hope you enjoy the card samples for today!!!  I  will post again soon!!!

Calli's 17th Birthday Party!!!

Saturday was my baby Calli's 17th Birthday!!  We spent the weekend back in Sioux Falls and that morning having her Senior Pictures taken...then we surprised her with a party at my friend Sarah's office!!!  Sarah is amazing with parties and everything matching!!!  It was rainbow themed and all different colors of candy to match the rainbows and she made the pennant banner with Calli's name on it!!!

My husband, Verlyn, and my youngest two children, Chelsea and Calli!!!
What a fun day!!!

Monkey Bathroom!!!

So, last weekend I finished one of the upstairs bathrooms!! I used my Big Shot and our vinyl sheets and the Serif Alphabet to cut out all the letters for my monkey poem!! Fun!  To get them straight I used blue tape to keep my lines straight...then I counted the number of letters per line divided that in half and started in the middle to go front and back to get the words lined up.

We used to carry these amazing monkey decor elements and I carefully took them off the wall from our house in Sioux Falls...put them lightly on wax paper and then transferred them to this house!  The frames are from IKEA and I put the matching little monkeys on the frames and then there are silly pictures of my girls "monkeying" around when they were little!

I painted just the one wall a Banana Peel Yellow and the other walls are a light tan to match the monkeys mouths...It was fun to do and makes me happy!!!  Hope you enjoyed!!
